The International FAO Conference was held at FAO 13-15th of May with the aim to increase the understanding the role that forests, trees on farms and agroforestry systems can play in improving food security and nutrition especially in developing countries.
The seminar was held at SLU in Uppsala and moderated by Anders Malmer from SLU Global. Speakers at the seminar: Hans Nilsagård (Swedish Ministry of Rural Affairs), Lars Gunnar Marklund (FAO Central America), Daniela Kleinschmit and Sara Holmgren (SLU).
FAO arrange conference on “Forests for Food Security and Nutrition” the 13-15th of May 2013 at FAO in Rome, pre-register for the conference no later than the 15th of March.

The Focali researchers Madelene Ostwald, Sabine Henders and Martin Persson have been awarded research grants from Formas of 2.4 million SEK for the project “REDDleaks” for the years 2013-2014. Madelene Ostwald, research leader in Focali, is the research leader in this project.
Ida Hellmark, environmental economist, former project coordinator for Focali and alumni from the School of Economics at the University of Gothenburg, has been awarded the “young economics alumni award 2012”.
