A postdoctoral candidate with strong social science and/or interdisciplinary environmental studies training and research interests in forest and climate governance to join Wageningen University’s REDD@WUR network and lead a project on REDD+ finance and governance.
This postdoctoral position is supported by the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF). The aim of this project is to produce scholarly analyses and policy guidance on multilevel mechanisms and institutional arrangements for REDD+ results-based financing, including the role of the private sector and incentivizing non-carbon benefits.
The postdoc will be responsible for further developing and contributing to the WWF and the REDD@WUR network’s ‘thought leadership’ on a REDD+ results-based financing and governance architecture leading upto 2015.
This postdoctoral position will be hosted by the Environmental Policy Group in the Department of Social Sciences, in collaboration with the Forest and Nature Conservation Policy Group of the Department of Environmental Sciences.

A motivated, enthusiastic and proactive social/ interdisciplinary scientist and a team player who is interested in both indepth scholarly analysis and policy engagement and networking.
You also have: - a recently completed PhD with background in social/ interdisciplinary environmental sciences
- familiarity with and interest in climate/forest interactions and REDD+ discussions
- solid research and networking skills and (at least a few) internationally refereed publications related to climate and/or forest governance, preferably on REDD+
- experience with project management and coordination
- excellent written and communicating skills in English
