Yadvinder Malhi is a professor in Ecosystem science at University of Oxford. His research interests focus on interactions between forest ecosystems and the global atmosphere, with a particular focus on their role in global carbon, energy and water cycles, and in understanding how the ecology of natural ecosystems may be shifting in response to global atmospheric change. More recently his interests have

expanded to include the impacts and limitation of tropical deforestation.

Prof Malhi opponent to PhD thesis at GU

On Friday 9th 10.00, Prof Malhi will act as opponent when Brigitte Nyirambangutse defend her thesis “Carbon and Nutrient Cycling in Afromontane Tropical Forests at Different Successional Stages". This thesis defence takes place in the same venue in the GU Botany building as the seminar presented above.
