The aim with the LARRI research networking meetings is to informally meet and discuss ongoing and
planned research on different land related topics and to promote collaboration between researchers and
between researchers and students from different disciplines. In addition this research networking meeting
will provide an opportunity to discuss how research on the theme can be used in policy and practice to
enhance tenure security for rural poor in the context of increased demand for land and related resources.
Program:
The meeting will start with short presentations on the topics below, thereafter a discussion will be facilitated by the LARRI coordinator Maria Ölund.
Jeannette Bayisenge: “Land tenure reform: A tool for ensuring land rights to women? Experiences from
the administration of the land registration and titling in Rwanda.”
Robin Biddulph: “Do land titling programmes avoid areas where there is tenure insecurity? And other
reflections from the Cambodian case.”
Lasse Krantz: “Securing Land Rights in a Context of Increasing External Demand for Land. The case of
Mozambique.”
Gunnar Köhlin: “Experiences from the land registration and certification programme in the Amhara region
of Ethiopia.”
