Focali members present at DevRes online conference - Advancing Sustainable Transformation

The Development Research Conference, DevRes, will be held digitally June 14-16 after being postponed from 2020. The theme of the conference is Advancing Sustainable Transformation. Several Focali members are involved in the conference as chairs of sessions, presenters or co-authors of articles that will be presented.

Participants are invited to a creative forum to address the challenge of how development research can support sustainability, with a focus on low-resource settings. The conference is organized by Umeå University, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, the Swedish Research Council, Sida and Formas.

List of DevRes sessions involving Focali members: 


Session 3: Sustainable dryland development for livestock keepers in sub-Saharan Africa. Focali members involved: Per Knutsson, Gert Nyberg, Madelene Ostwald
 

Session 8 & 16: Grand masterplans and the mundane everyday. Focali members involved: Linda Engström, Per Knutsson

Session 12: Public policies, extension and advisory services for advancing sustainable development. Focali member involved: Per Knutsson chairs the session

Session 13: Climate change – resilience, mitigation and adaptation. Focali member involved: Francisco X. Aguilar

Session 22 & 30: Transformative FLR to achieve the SDGs – research, theory and practice. Focali members involved: Rosa Goodman, Ulrik Ilstedt, Anders Malmer, Gert Nyberg, Madelene Ostwald, Aida Bargués Tobella present. Malin Gustafsson and Maria Ölund moderates. Aida Bargués Tobella coordinated the session.

Session 32: Development for whom : Revisiting inequality and social injustice in sustainable development. Focali members involved: Grace Wong and Hanna Sinare.

Session 35: Agroforestry, Livelihoods and Resilience: How to translate research into policy and practice at scale. Focali member involved: Elisabeth Simelton

Session 38. Sustainable food systems. Focali members involved: Gert Nyberg and Klara Fischer are co co-authors of two different abstracts.

Session 46. Tree cover and forest dynamics. Focali member involved: Kristina Marquardt is presenting and Aida Bargués Tobella chairs the session

Session 48. Stakeholders involved in the advancement of a sustainable transformation. Focali members involved: Elisabeth Simelton. Klara Fischer is co-author of one of the abstracts.
