The 20th of February GMV (Centre for Environment and sustainability) invites you to an open seminar with State Secretary Anders Flanking from the Ministry of Environment. Mr Flanking will share his thoughts and experiences related to the role of research in environmental policy making.
His presentation will include questions like how do policy makers deal with conflicting messages from science and how do policy makers respond when scientific findings challenge voters and powerful interests?
The session starts with a 40 minute presentation followed by questions and answers. After a short break the session continues with a discussion between Mr Flanking and participants in the PhD course "Research to policy for sustainable development" offered by the Centre for Environment and Sustainability (GMV) at Chalmers/University of Gothenburg. The seminar will be held in English
The seminar is a part of the multidisciplinary PhD-course “From Research to Policy for Sustainable Development”, which has been developed by researchers and policy experts at the Centre for Environment and sustainability (GMV).
