How does carbon offsetting impact landscapes? And what are the implications for climate and land use policies?
Welcome to this joint Focali-SIANI seminar in Stockholm on the World Environment Day! At this event we dig deeper into opportunities and risks of various carbon offsetting initiatives.

There are many initiatives and instruments for carbon offsetting and climate change mitigation, but how are they progressing and what impact do they have? What is the current status of REDD+ programs or initiatives under the Clean Development Mechanism, CDM? How are they connected to the Paris Agreement? Which of them has increased the attention to agriculture in climate negotiations and how do they affect livelihoods? What are the prospects for carbon credits when the need for effective climate action is higher than ever? We want to dig deeper into what possibilities and risks various carbon offsetting initiatives hold for landscapes and people. At this event we will hear about what worked and what did not work in climate mitigation and adaptation programmes.
A simple lunch will be provided at 12:30 and the seminar will start at 13:30
